Under Mauricio Pochettino, Tottenham is on the verge of achieving greatness in North London. We say verge because they’re not quite there yet. Although second place and third place finishes are fine, if Tottenham don’t win a trophy soon, they’ll be branded as nothing more than hype.

As it stands now, Tottenham is out of the title race and out of the Champions League, leaving only the FA Cup to fight for. The same trophy Mauricio Pochettino didn’t deem as important earlier in the season. If Tottenham truly want to get to the next level, they must invest heavily in the transfer market.

Here are 5 players Tottenham should sign this summer.

4Emil Forsberg

Emil Forsberg

Just like Naby Keita, Emil Forsberg burst onto the scene in the 2016/17 season as he was the driving force behind RB Leipzig’s unprecedented Bundesliga success. Since then, the Swedish midfielder has been the German side’s talisman, regularly winning points on his own. Forsberg is renowned for being versatile, creative, composed and exceptional in tight spaces. Under Mauricio Pochettino, Forsberg would develop into the complete midfielder producing exploits similar to those of Christian Eriksen.

  1. Malcom could happen, don’t think any of the others will and wouldn’t want Shaw anyhow. Ryan Sessegnon is clearly a better choice. Younger, more talented and more versitile. He has much more potential than Shaw and less prone to injury. My personal number 1 target.

    • Yeah Poch has made one of his trademark phone calls to Malcom so that is probably nailed on lol. Sessegnon has to be No1 target no question.

  2. You appear to want to overload the team with attacking midfielders. We don’t need Meyer, Zaha or Forsberg. We have Alli, Eriksen, Lamela, Moura and Son for those positions already. Poch clearly fancies Malcom (not Malcolm) and if we were to sign him it could even see a departure, maybe in the form of Lamela (although he’s a Poch favourite). As for Luke Shaw he would be a big gamble and I don’t think there is a Spurs fan in the land who would take him over Sessegnon (who you don’t mention for some reason). It’s looking increasingly likely that Alderweireld will be moving on so a centre back will become a priority and Jonathan Tah would be a great addition. If I had to pick five signings they would be Tah, Sessegnon, Samoah, Malcom and Dembele from Celtic.
