6 Players Who Will be key For Manchester United Against Watford

Manchester United travel to Vicarage Road in Saturday’s late kick-off for what is sure to be a thrilling encounter with both sides having strong incentives to secure maximum points. For Manchester United, Jose Mourinho is well aware of his need to garner points in a bid to get his side back on track whilst Watford’s Javi Garcia will be looking to continue his side’s 100% record and maybe, just maybe, stake a claim for a top four spot leading up to the flurry of games in the December period.

Judging by Watford’s recent performances United could have a hard time away at Vicarage Road – on that note, here are 5 players that could help them bag all three points;

David De Gea

The Manchester United shot-stopper came under rare scrutiny after his poor start to the season having conceded seven goals in four Premier League appearances.

Having impressed against Burnley last time out and put in great showings for Spain at the Nations Cup during the international break, it’s safe to say that De Gea is back to his best and will be looking to prevent Watford from adding to their tally of 9 goals scored so far this season.

Antonio Valencia

Antonio Valencia is rearing to get some games under his belt after playing just 180 minutes of Premier League football thus far. The 33-year-old’s great pace, strength and ability to stop opponents in their tracks will be useful to The Red Devils as they look to find their way back to the top end of the table following the end of the international break.

The Ecuadorian right-back’s crossing could also be key for United with Romelu Lukaku set to lead the line after a stunning brace in his last game for Jose Mourinho’s side.

Nemanja Matic

Matic hasn’t enjoyed the best of starts to the new season, but he remains a key figure in Manchester United’s midfield due to his defensive contributions and his ability to strike the ball from distance.

The Serbian midfielder will be looking to prevent the likes of Troy Deeney and Roberto Pereyra who have 5 goals between them thus far from adding to their respective tallies – it won’t be an easy task, but Matic is the man for the job.

Paul Pogba

Paul Pogba

Paul Pogba’s relationship with Manchester United fans isn’t the best at the moment. Club legend Gary Neville has even gone as far as to tell Pogba to leave United if he’s not happy at the club amid the current situation.

Pogba is likely to start against Watford despite the controversy surrounding his Manchester United Career and he’ll be looking to win back the fans’ affection with a great display, because as we all know, on his day, Pogba is one of the best players in the world. Jose Mourinho will be looking towards him to add give his side some much-needed creativity.

Alexis Sanchez

Alexis Sanchez Manchester United

Alexis Sanchez put in a man of the match performance in his last appearance for United thus making him a major threat for Watford’s defence. His speed of though, ball control, passing and finishing is sure to be a problem for the Hornets on Saturday.

Romelu Lukaku

Belgium’s top scorer and Manchester United’s main man Romelu Lukaku will undoubtedly be a key player against Javi Garcia’s men. His penchant for making intelligent runs, his finishing as well as his dominance in the air could prove to be too much for Watford’s defence. With him in the side, United have every chance of walking out of the tie with all three points.
