Arsenal have reportedly stepped up efforts to make Schalke winger Julian Draxler their first major summer signing.
Arsene Wenger is a big admirer of 21-year-old Germany international’s speed, his ability to use both feet, as well as power of his shot and desperate to bring him to the Emirates this summer.
According to Metro, the Gunners are preparing to launch a£30million move for the attacking winger, who emerged as a target for Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City after 2012-13 season, wherein he scored 10 goals 30 Bundesliga appearances.
Draxler struggled with a string of injury problems last season, having made just 15 league appearances and is linked with a move to Premier League this summer to refresh his career.
Arsenal may face stiff competition from their Premier League rivals and clubs like could Chelsea, United and City could reignite interest in the winger.
Draxler made his Bundesliga debut for Schalkeat the age of 16 in 2011 and managed 113 appearances for the club in five seasons, scoring 16 goals.
He has earned 15 caps for Germany since making his full international debut in 2012. He was the part of German side that won FIFA World Cup in Brazil last summer.
