Arsenal Going After Liga Playmaker, Chelsea Agrees to Sell Midfielder

Date:

Despite being close to signing a new contract with LA LIGA club Sevilla, long-term Arsenal target Grzegorz Krychowiak is reportedly nearing on to a move to London in the coming months. According to reports that have come from British Newspaper “Metro”, the Polish midfielder might join Arsenal even after signing a contract with FC Sevilla after this Season.

According to the newspaper, the Polish midfielder is signing a contract only to pave his way to an exit from Seville at the end of this Season. At just 25-years of age, Krychowiak has shown the maturity to compete at the top level for Sevilla since signing for them in 2014.

While the Arsenal fans know little about him, the fact that he plays at the defensive midfield position enshrines why Arsenal are going after Krychowiak. Coquelin and Cazorla have been playing brilliant for Arsenal at that particular place, however, injury to either of them may expose the limitations of the high-flying Arsenal squad.

He is valued by the Spanish club at around 21-Million Pounds, however, with a new deal imminent, his release clause might go up in the coming months. Manchester City are also his admirers thus Arsenal will have to act decisively if they want to secure his services.

Turning our attention to Chelsea and it seems that Jose Mourinho has learnt nothing from the past. While Chelsea is still suffering from the departures of Juan Mata and Kevin De Bryune both of whom have come back to haunt them, Mourinho is offloading another attacking midfielder in the coming winter transfer window.

Thus, if reports coming out from “London Evening Standard” are believed to be true, the Blues have agreed on a fee of 15.75 Million Pounds from Juventus. Cuadrado is currently on a season-long loan in Turin and is expected to make his move permanent before the end of this Season.

This news has come at a time when the likes of Hazard, Oscar and Pedro have struggled, thus, pressure would increase manifolds on Jose Mourinho if he decides to force another attacking midfielder out.

Looking at the form of Juan Cuadrado at Juventus and it seems logical that the Old Lady is going to get him on a permanent basis. He has created the 2nd most chances in Serie A this Season even though he has managed just 5 starts for Juventus.

According to reports, the winger’s agent met Chelsea officials to discuss the future of Cuadrado just a day before Cuadrado scored the winner against Turino on the weekend. At 27-years of age, this won’t be the first time that Cuadrado would be playing in Italy as Chelsea initially signed him from Fiorentina last January.

Upon his signature, the London side paid a staggering 26.1 Million Pounds to Fiorentina. However, Cuadrado failed to make his mark at Chelsea. It was his form in the 2014 World Cup with Colombia that prompted Chelsea to make their move, but a lack of game time proved to be the main reason for the demise of Cuadrado from Chelsea.

In 6 months that he spent at Chelsea before being eventually loaned out to Juventus, Cuadrado made just 4 starts for the blues.
