Eddie Howe will be hoping for another inspirational performance from his side as they welcome a wounded Manchester United side to the Vitality Stadium.

Manchester United fans will have to make due with Thursday night European football for the remainder of the season following their 3rd place finish in their Champions League group.

The Red Devils suffered a disheartening 3-2 home loss to a Wolfsburg, and now will be looking to put their Champions League woes aside ahead of the clash against Bournemouth.

The Cherries seem to have found their feet in the league following their excellent run of results with a hard fought draw against Everton and their win away at Stamford Bridge.

But the game against United will definitely have a different twist to it because of United’s tactical discipline.

LVG will be keen on a victory against Bournemouth as the tight run of fixtures that come along with the festive period could very well change a lot of things at the top half of the table, the mentality at this point would be to grab as many points as possible.

The United fans have stressed how much they are keen on seeing brilliant performances from the United squad, and Van Gaal will is well aware of the fact that despite Bournemouth’s recent rise in form, they are still a vulnerable side and a solid performance could secure the win for the Red Devils.

Team News

United have lost a host of players to injuries in recent weeks with Rooney, Smalling, Matteo Darmian, Luke Shaw, Marcos Rojo, Antonio Valencia and Phil Jones out injured.

LVG will have to field a relatively inexperienced defence for this one with the likes of Guillermo Varela, Cameron Borthwick-Johnson and Paddy McNair coming into the fray.

Bournemouth could be without Sylvain Distin, Adam Federici, Lee Tomlin, Marc Pugh and Tommy Elphick, who have all been absent in recent weeks.

Callum Wilson, Max Gradel, Tyrone Mings and Christian Atsu still out on the sidelines with long-term injuries.
