Chelsea vs Tel Aviv: Team News, TV Info and Lineups

Chelsea are ready to start their Champions League campaign with a home clash against Israeli champion Maccabi Tel Aviv on Wednesday 16, Sept.

Having failed to dig their feet in EPL this season, the reigning champions will find a chance to regain much-needed confidence ahead of a major EPL clash against Arsenal.

Who: Chelsea Vs Maccabi Tel Aviv

When: Wednesday, Sept. 16

Kick-off: 7:45 pm

Venue: Stamford Bridge, Chelsea

TV Channels: BT Sports 2

Team News:

Mourinho will start the CL season without goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, who has been ruled out of the squad for the next ten weeks due to a knee injury. Asmir Begovic; therefore, will continue between the sticks as he did in their last EPL encounter against Everton.

The Blues will also miss their new signing Papy Djilobodji.

Speaking about Djilobodji’s omission from the squad, the Portuguese tactician explained:

“If he is in the Champions League squad, Traore or Kenedy are not on the list.”

For Maccabi, Eliazer Dasa is the only significant absentee who has been sidelined because of suspension.

Probable Lineups:

Maccabi: Rajkovic, Shpungin, Mitrovic, Alberman, Ben Haim, Tibi, Ben Harush, Ben Haim II, Igiebor, Rikan, Zahavi.

Chelsea: Begovic, Ivanovic, Matic, Fabregas, Pedro, Zouma, Terry, Azpilicueta, Willian, Hazard, Costa.
