Manchester City will be aiming to fight for every title next season yet again. It is simply the elite standard that has been created within the club ever since the arrival of Pep Guardiola. With the Spaniard in charge, Man City have reached the very pinnacle of football.

However, the demands to retain such a standard have not been easy to get to nor have they been easy to retain. Every single season, fighting for the same goals again and again, that drive to succeed is something that Man City would not have today had it not been for Guardiola’s guidance.

That is why, ahead of the upcoming season as well, Pep Guardiola has once again decided to let his team know where he wants their concentration and dedication to lie. In the latest episode of ‘Inside City,’ Guardiola’s most recent address to his squad was revealed:

“Control yourself as best as possible… You know exactly what you need to be ready in the training sessions because immediately we have games, immediately we have the Community Shield and immediately we have the Premier League.”

Moreover, the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich coach also made sure to keep his players level-headed by reminding them to always stay present within their minds as well beyond just committing to the cause on a physical level:

“We need everybody fit especially here. (Pointing to his head) Here controls everything.”

For now, the immediate target for the Citizens will be a trip to the United States of America for their preseason games. They will take on the likes of Celtic, AC Milan, FC Barcelona, and Chelsea during that tour. Right afterwards, as Guardiola pointed out in his address to the squad, the Community Shield and Premier League will come into play.
