England Starlet Set to Sign New Deal with Manchester United

James Wilson is expected to sign a new contract with Manchester United this summer, according to reports.

The England Under-20 striker is out of contract this summer and is close to agreeing fresh terms with the Old Trafford club.

Wilson made his senior debut for United last season, when he scored two goals in 17 Premier League appearances.

The Red Devils are reportedly preparing to offer £30,000-a-week deal to Wilson.

If true, it would be a whopping 1,900% pay rise for the forward, who received £1,500-a-week under his previous contract at Old Trafford.

United are expected to send him on loan next season to broaden his first-team experience. Aston Villa, Newcastle United, West Brom United and Sunderland all reportedly interested in 19-year-old’s signature.

United boss Louis Van Gaal is in need of striking enforcements this summer as Robin van Persie is linked with a move away from Old Trafford and Radamel Falcao set to return to Monaco following the end of his loan season.

That leaves the Dutchman with Wayne Rooney as his only frontline striker.

The Red Devils have identified Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane their transfer priority and are reportedly preparing a £40million bid for the England international, who bagged 31 goals in 51 appearances last season.
