Clubs Where This Man United Outcast Can Get a Lifeline

It looks like the time is up for Luke Shaw at Old Trafford. Having moved to Manchester United in 2014, there was a lot of promise for the young left back who had two successful seasons with the Southampton first team warranting the £30 million move to Old Trafford. However, after a series of injuries and public criticism from several managers, Manchester does not look like his home anymore. But where will the 22-year-old go now as United have reportedly slapped a £20 million price tag on his head?

With the side struggling for the form they will be looking to the January transfer window to improve their squad. Having spent a lot of money in the summer, Ronald Koeman did not replace his ageing back line of Phil Jagielka, Ashley Williams and Leighton Baines. Baines, in particular, is not the player he once was and if Everton are going to contend with the top four, then they need to bolster their side.

The London club were interested in Shaw a few transfer windows ago before he suffered his horrific injury against PSV in the Champions League. His current club have made no secret that they are interested in his former England teammate and fellow left-back Danny Rose. Jose Mourinho is hoping that he can prise away the Spurs man by using Shaw as leverage.

Surely this would never happen? The move looks unlikely due to the rivalry between the two sides. However, with Liverpool still struggling at left-back and Manchester United looking to offload players off their books so that Mourinho can strengthen his team to catch up to their city rivals, a move could be on the cards. Jurgen Klopp would be happy to have him on his side with the attacking nature and intent he would bring to the Merseyside club.

With the Manchester United left-back, a boyhood fan of the Champions a move could be facilitated – well, from one side of the party at least. However, manager Antonio Conte, like Klopp, would appreciate his attacking intensity as his side look to win back to back titles. He would also provide cover and challenge players such as Marcos Alonso for the left wing-back position.

Another club interested are the Turkish side. This would be an outside move with the youngster more than likely wanting to stay in England to keep his chances of an England recall alive. However, with the club currently in 7th place and nine points behind Galatasaray, they really do need to improve their squad. The move would also see him link up with former teammate Robin Van Persie and that could be devastating for other clubs in the league.
