How Jose Mourinho has fixed Most of Manchester United’s Problems

The pursuit of ultimate glory never ends at Old Trafford. Manchester United winning the Europa league and a ticket back to the champions league last season didn’t save them from heavy criticism from pundits and rival fans alike as their season was adjudged a disappointing one. Despite a 2016/2017 season summer spending spree which saw Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mhikitaryan and Paul Pogba move to Old Trafford.

Bringing in Nemanja Matic from Chelsea appears to be a deft move as the Serbian has brought the much-needed stability to Manchester United’s midfield. Against West Ham, Matic’s neat tackles and distribution put United in a dominant position as they went on to rout the visitors. His presence also freed up the heavily maligned Paul Pogba who had a good game including getting a goal for his performance. After replicating that performance against Swansea, the Matic/Pogba partnership will surely dominate games for the Red Devils this season.

Upfront Romelu Lukaku showed his ability to lead Manchester United’s forward line, lack of firepower was undoubtedly Jose Mourinho’s side’s biggest Achilles last season with Zlatan Ibrahimovic being the only United player to reach double figures.

Romelu Lukaku who scored 25 premier league goals last season while at Everton proved unplayable for the visiting Hammers on his debut. The Belgian will certainly be a handful for United’s rivals as they look to win the premier league title.

Another bright spark United can bank on for glory this season would be Anthony Martial. Though the Frenchman now in his third season with Man Utd has struggled to match the initial hype that heralded his move to Old Trafford, Anthony Martial’s cameos against West Ham and Swansea reminded everyone how pivotal he is for the Red Devils.

The young forward who has largely seen action from the bench under Jose Mourinho would be a perfect Plan B for the Red Devils in their quest for titles this season.

Manchester United’s season looks like it’s been written in the stars, given Jose Mourinho’s second season with any team is always nothing but a very successful one. The Portuguese tactician has already got his team playing some good attacking football mixed with enormous energy and pace, hence; as the new season goes on, United fans can surely dream again.
