Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech is on the verge of completing a £11m switch to Arsenal anytime soon, but the Czech international insists that journey from Stamford Bridge to Emirates stadium is not over and no deal has yet been reached.

The veteran shot-stopper turned to microblogging website Twitter on Monday evening to rubbish the media reports that a deal had already been struck with the Gunners over a proposed £11-million transfer from Chelsea.

He retweeted a tweet from his PR management company The Sports PR confirming that nothing has been concluded yet.

“As we told you, No transfer deal has been done yet for PetrCech – as soon as any news PetrCech will confirm.” Cech’s PR Company tweeted.

And the goalkeeper re-posted the message to his own Twitter feed.

Sports Courant believes that the Gunners are close on landing their top transfer target on a three-year deal, worth in the region of £100,000-per-week. The Czech stopper Cech is expected to be seen guarding the nets for Champion’s rivals in the Community Shield at Wembley on August 2.

The Gunners first attempted to seal the signatures of prized goalkeeper in the summer of 2013 – though they got a quick response that the custodian of nets wasn’t for sale. Arsene Wenger again expressed his interest last summer, but the Blues remained unwilling to sell the goalkeeper.

But with Courtois firmly established as Chelsea’s first-choice goalkeeper, Arsenal have finally secured their long-term target.

The clash could see Cech and Blues skipper John Terry go head-to-head after 11 trophy-laden years together.

And Terry believes Cech’s switch across the capital will be worth up to 15 points for Wenger’s side next season.

‘I am sure if he does leave the club, which nobody wants to see, but we understand he wants to play football, he is going to be sorely missed,’ said the former England captain. He will improve whatever side he goes to. There is obviously

‘He will improve whatever side he goes to. There is obviously talks of Arsenal signing Petr and if they do get Pete that will strengthen them for sure. He will save them 12 to 15 points a season,’ the 34-year-old said.
