Liverpool Must Sign At Least Two of These Three Players

The 350-day Premier League season has come to a conclusion with Liverpool being the deserved champions. Three decades of the wait was long but truly worth it. The Merseyside club completely dominated the season and no team came even close to challenge them.

So, does that mean Liverpool have nothing to do in the summer transfer market? No signings, no departure, still the best team? No, football doesn’t work like that. Manchester City and Chelsea have already signed two players each. Manchester United are hoping to get Jadon Sancho over the line. Thus, Liverpool needs more quality. They need more players, if not for the first team, definitely for the role of second fiddle. Here, we rank the top transfer targets of PL champions who are gaining a lot of hums.

Jamal Lewis – (Should be done, 9/10)

Jamal-Lewis-Liverpool

Norwich City’s left-back Jamal Lewis is amongst the top transfers which Jurgen Klopp is eager to complete. Reportedly, Liverpool value the 22-year old Northern Irish defender at around £10 million. This is way less than £20 million what Norwich City is rumoured to ask. The Canneries, rock-bottom in Premier League this season, is heading towards The Championship. Thus, Lewis also desires a move to Anfield. The player knows that he will act only as a back-up to Andy Robertson. He will have a very limited game-time, but playing around the best of the best players will compensate for that. Robertson desperately needs back-up, and we think having Lewis in the wings won’t be a bad idea at all. This deal must come to a conclusion in Liverpool’s favour.

Thiago Alcantara – (Not necessarily, 5/10)

Thiago Alcantara Liverpool

Bayern Munich chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge stated that Thiago Alcantara wants to leave the club this summer. PSG or Liverpool are the top teams which the midfield is rumoured to join. But the question is, does Liverpool need a midfielder who is going to be 30 years old next year?

Jurgen Klopp has a stocked midfield already. Fabinho, Henderson, Milner, Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade Chamberlain, and Wijnaldum are already contesting for the three midfield spots. Apart from this, Curtis Jones, the 19-year old lad, is a huge prospect. He has featured for Liverpool this season but very rarely. Even the manager rates Curtis Jones very highly. So, if Thiago Alcantara’s move does not go over the line, it won’t be an unfortunate end to Liverpool’s transfer window.

Aïssa Mandi – (A must required signing, 8/10)

Aïssa-Mandi

Liverpool is looking to strengthen their defence. Dejan Lovren’s departure to Zenit has left a hole in Liverpool’s defence. Even though he didn’t play a lot of games, he was still an important character in the dressing room.

Real Betis’s Algerian defender, Aissa Mandi, is reportedly the chosen one to come to Anfield. According to the news, the club has already submitted a £9 million bid for the defender. The 28-year old defender has just one year left in his contract. Hence, the chances of getting this deal are very high. He has featured in 33 games this season and averaged 1.2 tackles per game and 1.3 interceptions per game.

He has also won 2.1 aerial duels per game. Adding to this, Mandi has the versatility to play both as a centre-back and as a right-back. Thus, he might act as a cover for Trent Alexander-Arnold. This gives more reason to Jurgen Klopp to complete this deal.
