Liverpool Still A Possibility For Balotelli?

It’s no question that Balotelli was ranked among the world’s best players a couple of years ago, but the controversial nature of his career seems to have affected his ability in an adverse manner as he looks to be a shadow of his former self.

He had an impressive spell at Inter Milan which saw him secure a move to Premier League giants Manchester City in 2010.

He was scoring goals for fun upon his arrival at the Etihad as he averaged a goal ratio of 0.4 goals per game.

All things seemed to be going smoothly for Balotelli, but a fallout with then City manager Roberto Mancini saw him make an early move back to Milan but this time with Inter’s fierce rivals AC Milan.

Soon after his arrival at the San Siro, Liverpool came calling, and he was signed as an immediate replacement for Luis Suarez.

Liverpool’s attack was in utter shambles as Balotelli led the front line In 2014.

The Italy international scored just one Premier League goal in 16 appearances making him one of the worst signings of 2014 season.

He was eventually deemed surplus to requirements and allowed to move out on loan to AC Milan at the start of this season but following the arrival of Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, Balotelli’s agent Mino Raiola believes that his client will get another Chance to prove himself at Liverpool.

“For sure,” Raiola told  Sky Sports when asked if he planned to speak with Klopp soon regarding Balotelli. “That is part of my job, to speak to all the managers. I know Klopp from [representing] Henrikh Mkhitaryan at Dortmund.

“If we talk about the quality and the talent Mario has, that is without question.

“Then you also need a manager that believes in you and gives you the chance to prove yourself. We will talk to him when it is time to talk to him.”

Klopp could be the right man to get Balotelli playing at his best, but it remains to be seen if Balotelli will be willing to put his big ego aside to play at a top level once again.
