According to reports, Manchester United has opened talks with Feyenoord over a move to sign Dutch U16 international Tahith Chong.

Earlier this month, the Daily Mirror revealed that Dutch youngster has impressed United with his performance in Premier Cup tournament held at United’s training base in Carrington in 2014.

According to The Sun, the Red Devils have already held talks with the 15-year-old over a potential transfer and has invited the player to train with their squad.

Reports say that Premier League Champions are also keen to sign the talented teenage attacker.

According to The Star, Blues are believed to be planning a January move to add the star to their youth ranks.

West London’s youth side has won the U21 Premier League title, the UEFA Youth Cup and the FA Youth Cup three times since 2012.

Chong, who can play up front or in midfield, is known for his pace, eye for goal and technical skills. The Afro-haired teenager currently plies his trade with Rotterdam outfit and cannot sign a professional contract due to his age and will be allowed to leave the club when he turns 16 in January.

United has a long history of promoting youth player to their first team, despite their recent spending under Van Gaal. The Blue Lions has a little history in this regard with club legend John Terry being the last academy product to break into their first team.

Both sides are expected to go head-to-head for the star in January transfer window.
