Man Utd will face Wolfsburg today in their second group game of Champions League at Old Trafford.

This game is of crucial importance for the Red Devils as they suffered defeat in their opening game against PSV Eindhoven, and anything less than three points will severely dent their hopes of reaching the last-16. Wolfsburg beat CSKA Moscow in their opening game, and if they can get a positive result from this one, they will feel quite confident of reaching the next round.

Team News:
Man Utd manager Louis Van Gaal has confirmed that midfielder Michael Carrick will miss the game due to an injury while midfielder Ander Herrera and winger Antonio Valencia are carrying minor injuries, and their participation is in doubt.

Marcus Rojo, who has missed the last couple of with a hamstring problem, also missed the training session and is doubtful for the game.

Meanwhile, defender Paddy McNair is set to return to the squad after he participated in the training following his recovery from the injury that sidelined him for last two games.

Wolfsburg will be without their midfield general Luiz Gustavo, who has a knee injury while centre-back Robin Knoche is also ruled out.

The German side have lost on all three occasions they have travelled to England and have conceded eight goals in the process.

The Red Devils will certainly be the favourites in the game, but keeping in mind the latest exploits of the Premier League teams in Champions League it would be wise not to bet on the Manchester team.

The weekend trip to Emirates Stadium might also affect Van Gaal’s squad selection.

Predicted Lineups

Manchester United:De Gea, Darmian, Smalling, Blind, Valencia, Schweinsteiger, Schneiderlin, Mata, Rooney, Depay, Martial.

Wolfsburg: Benaglio, Trasch, Naldo, Dante, Rodriguez, Guilavogui, Caligiuri, Kruse, Arnold, Draxler, Dost.
