Match Against Club Brugge is Biggest of My Career: LVG

Date:

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal have called Wednesday night’s matchup against Club Brugge as the biggest clash of his Old Trafford career.

The Red Devils travel to Belgium for Champions League playoff holding a 3-1 lead from the first leg after a double blow from Memphis Depay followed by a late strike from Fellaini gave hosts a much-needed victory last Tuesday.

After dictating terms to visitors in from of home crowd last week, United boasts no margin of error as another campaign without Champions League football would be a near-disaster for the Premier League giants.

As the Dutchman rightly pointed out on Tuesday, any collapse against European holders would undo all the good work of last season too if they squander their position of superiority in Belgium.

“We have to play the game, at the end you have to have scored one goal more than the opponent. They have beaten Greek opponents 3-0, they are capable of doing that with the support of their fans,” Gaal told a press conference on Tuesday.

The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss does not expect to make wholesale changes to his starting line-up for tonight’s clash.
