The Starlet Would Be a Perfect Signing – Messi Tells Club

Dele Alli

It is understood that Lionel Messi wants his side to pursue England and Tottenham star Dele Alli to win more trophies. The former MK Dons player has already attracted the attention of La Liga rivals Real Madrid, but he is hoping that the Catalan giants can persuade him to play in the northern Spain as opposed to central Spain.

It is becoming evident that Barcelona are in the market for a new midfielder and have previously been interested in German international Leon Goretska; who is one of Europe’s finest emerging talents. They were also interested in Liverpool man Phillipe Coutinho in the summer but were unsuccessful in prising him away from Merseyside.

However, with Messi’s endorsement for Alli, they will be hoping not to hit the same brick wall this coming summer.

The England international, like Goretska, is one of the hottest young talents emerging in the game at the moment as he has won the PFA Young Player award for the past two seasons. The 21-year-old has got 31 Premier League goals to his name and 17 assists in a young career. This season, the playmaker has three goals and one assist, but his performances have been more than just stats as he has played exquisitely to help move Tottenham to 3rd place on the table.

Playing in the number 10 role is where he is most deadly and inspiring for his club, Alli’s performance against Real Madrid was a real eye-opener for the Spanish public, as he managed to score twice against the ten times European champions. It was a majestic performance where he glided past the statue Los Blancos defenders to cause torment all evening long.

With Andres Iniesta aged 33 and both Ivan Rakitic and Sergio Busquets aged 29, the Barcelona midfield is in need of some youthful rejuvenation. Alli has youth on his side and is currently playing at the top of his game so he would fit into the La Liga side’s team like a glove.

His departure from north London (if happens) will diminish the Tottenham side, and it would be incredibly frustrating for staff and fans alike because they see this man as future of the club. Take Alli out of the starting XI, and the side does not look half as dangerous as it would with him in it.

However, if he continues to produce all these impressive performances for club and country, then many clubs will be chasing him for his signature; let alone Barcelona.
