Bordeaux winger Henri Saviet has reportedly developed cold feet about signing for Newcastle due to their unattractive position on the Premier League table, according to ChronicleLive.

Henri Saviet is understood to have a host of clubs keen on securing his services in the January transfer window or at the end of the season.

Saivet’s has expressed his preferred choice of club as he’s keen on playing for a team involved in the Champions League or Europa League respectively, but he also has some admiration for the Premier League as he is intrigued by the intense nature and Unpredictably of the League.

Sources in France claim that while Newcastle chief scout Graham Carr had met with Saivet’s representatives, the winger is worried about joining a club heading towards the Championship.

But there’s still plenty of time for an agreement to be reached as the transfer window opened up just yesterday.

Saviet, 25, has also attracted some interest from AFC Bournemouth and Southampton recently so as it appears, he has a host of clubs to choose from.

Saviet will need some more convincing if he’s to join Newcastle as there’s a very realistic chance that Newcastle could get relegated.

Newcastle have held talks with a host of clubs regarding deals for players on their shortlist and Steve McLaren
has made it known that he would like to bring in a Prolific striker in the window.

Newcastle are also set to let go off out-of-favour Mike Williamson to Wolverhampton Wanderers to free up some space on the team and also reduce the wage bill.

Unlike the likes of Sunderland and Aston Villa, Newcastle have an excellent chance of staying up as they’ve put in a couple of decent performances against top sides in the League this season, most notably Liverpool.

Newcastle were unlucky not to pick up any points from their last two Premier League games, but they’ll certainly be looking for the next couple of outings to try and get themselves into a safe position.
