Premier League’s Famous Rivalry Coming to an End?

Date:

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has reportedly decided to bury his animosity with Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger ahead of high voltage London Derby on Saturday afternoon.

The Frenchman and Portuguese tactician are having a hostile behavior towards each other since past few years, which intensified last season when the duo confronted on the touchline at Stamford Bridge in Blues’ over the Gunners.

The relationship between bitter rivals strained further when Mourinho refused to shake hand with Wenger after Arsenal’s triumph in the Community Shield, despite congratulating each of his players as they came down the steps at Wembley.

However, the former Porto manager has now decided to draw a line under his feud with Wenger and will shake hands with him before kickoff in an attempt to bury the hatchet, reports The Mirror.

He is expected to greet visiting manager in the Stamford Bridge tunnel, as he routinely does with other managers.

When managers of contesting sides do not follow the tradition of shaking hands, the incident is usually depicted as an issue for being an obvious sign of abhorrence in a personality-fixated culture.

The defending champions are languishing in 17th place on Premier League table, six points behind fourth-placed Arsenal ahead of Saturday ‘s high-profile fixture at Stamford Bridge.
