Revealed: Strongest Manchester City Lineup to Face Norwich

Date:

A team that doesn’t need a second invitation to score a goal, Manchester City will welcome Norwich at their home turf on Saturday. The Citizens have scored 11 goals in their last 3 League outings and could inflict the same pounding on the newcomer Norwich side. Both Sergio Aguero and David Silva have been ruled out for this fixture which means that the City squad will be well below their best once again this Season.

Here is the strongest possible Manchester City lineup to face Norwich this weekend …

Joe Hart

While the Manchester derby last weekend was punctuated with boring spells and lack of ruthlessness from both sides, Joe Hart was quite busy in the Manchester City half. The Englishman did really well to keep United out and earn a hard-won point for Manchester City.

Bacary Sagna

For the former Arsenal player who is currently plying his trade in Manchester, this Season has been a brilliant one for Bacary Sagna. Pablo Zabaleta injured himself early on in the campaign which opened the door for Sagna to get more first team action. The Argentine full-back is still out which means Sagna will continue doing the first team duties for Manuel Pellegrini.

Nicolas Otamendi

Coming into the Manchester derby last weekend, Anthony Martial was on swansong and promised to disturb the neighbors with his game. However, credits to the 32-Million Pound signing Otamendi that the Citizens went throughout the 90 minutes unscathed. He will again replace Eliaquim Mangala in the Manchester City lineup on Saturday.

Vincent Kompany

A player who was regarded as un-substitutable as early as last Season, Vincent Kompany is currently going through turbulent times at the Etihad. His performance level hasn’t been above par therefore, Manchester City will need a strong showing from their Captain to breathe a sigh of relief.

Aleksandar Kolarov

With the absence of David Silva and Sergio Aguero, Manchester City fans won’t see the pairing which has won them numerous matches on its own. However, in Kolarov and Sterling, the Citizens are building a new look partnership that has the capacity to decimate Premier League defenses on its own.

Yaya Toure

Even though Manuel Pellegrini started Toure in an advanced role in order to get the Ivorian back to his best, it was little more than a subdued performance from Yaya Toure. Thus, he is expected to be shifted back to the defensive midfield role.

Fernandinho

At 31 years of age, Fernandinho has finally made the Manchester City fans aware of his importance to the team. He will start alongside Yaya Toure in the midfield.

Raheem Sterling

A player who was criticized by media due to his lack of finishing, Raheem Sterling has answered his critics really well in the last few matches. Having scored 3 goals in last 3 matches for the club, Sterling would be hoping to increase his goal tally for the Season by giving an impressive performance against Manchester City.

Kevin De Bryune

A player who works best when he is deployed on the right-hand side, the absence of David Silva means that De Bryune will again be shifted into the middle of the Park. He is the most in-form Manchester City player and Manuel Pellegrini will rightly look towards the Belgian for another brilliant showing.

Jesus Navas

While there are many players in the Premier League who are under-rated, a small minority of them earns the ridicule as Navas. His darting runs in the opposition half have given several full-backs headaches and Navas does have the ability to run Norwich riot on Saturday.

Wilfred Bony

Thanks to the untimely injury of Sergio Aguero, Wilfred Bony will make his 4th consecutive start for Manchester City against Norwich
