As Manchester United get ready to take the trip to Wales to face Swansea City this weekend, we take a look at the last three times that the Swans have beaten the Red Devils. And they are much more recent than you think, in fact, in the last six meetings between the two teams, Swansea have actually won more than United with three wins (all with a 2-1 scoreline) and just two losses in the six games. They will use this recent form for confidence going into the clash.

As far as bogey teams go, I think it’s fair to say that Louis Van Gaal’s bogey team is Swansea City. In his four meetings with the Welsh side, he lost three and only won one, I don’t think he will be visiting North Wales in a hurry. Once again, Swansea came from being 1-0 down to go on and win 2-1. It was Ander Herrera who opened the scoring just before the half an hour mark as he magnificently curled the ball into the bottom corner with the outside of his boot.

They were ahead for less than two minutes as Jonjo Shelvey’s bending cross was deftly converted by Ki Sung-yueng and with less than 20 minutes left of the match, Swansea took all three points. Gomis secured the victory for the Swans once again but there was more than a hint of fortune about it. And it was Shelvey who provided his second assist of the game as his 25-yard shot deflected off Gomis’ head and wrong-footed David de Gea between the sticks.
