Southampton Vs Man United: Preview, Kickoff Time, TV Info & Live Stream

Louis Van Gaal’s boys will be aiming to bounce back from midweek’s Champions League defeat when they return to the Premier League action with an away game against Southampton on Sunday.

Manchester United have had an average start of the new Premier season, winning three games of the opening five. Last week, they bounced back from the shocking 2-0 defeat to Swansea City with a comfortable 3-0 win over bitter rivals Liverpool. However, their confidence suffered a blow on the midweek when PSV handed them a 2-1 defeat in their opening group match of Champions League.

United are currently sitting at 4th in the League table with 10 points. A win over the Saints on Sunday could move the Red Devils above third-placed Leicester City and 2nd-placed West Ham United, who both have 12 points after five games.

Southampton, on the other hand, have claimed just single victory in their opening five league matches, losing one and drawing three. Their only Premier League win in the new season came on Aug 30, as Graziano Pelle’s opener and Dusan Tadic’s brace helped Ronald Koeman’s side secure all three points against Norwich City.

Manchester United have won two of their last five matches against the Saturday’s rival, with the Saints winning one and the remaining two fixtures ending at draws.

In the last mutual contest, Tadic scored a second half goal to seal the win for Southampton at Old Trafford.
