Liverpool currently sit 6th in the Premier League, a whopping 14 points behind the leaders Manchester City. They’ve been branded as potential contenders, but the fact is, City are running away with the league and if Liverpool doesn’t make alterations to the squad in January, they’ll fall further behind. Alongside new signings, there are players the Reds should sell in the winter window to ensure their squad is in its best position to compete.

Here are 3 players Liverpool should offload in January.

2Danny Ings

Danny Ings Liverpool

Since joining Liverpool from Burnley, Danny Ings has only made 12 appearances for the Reds. In fact, he’s missed an astonishing 85 games for Liverpool through injury. A cruciate ligament rupture and a further knee operation have left the 25-year-old bound to the sidelines against his will. But as one of the biggest teams in Europe, there is no place for sympathy at Liverpool. As the wages and squad spot of Ings could be filled by an active & more useful member.

Squad depth is key to challenging for titles and Liverpool must replace Danny Ings with a player that can take creative responsibilities off the shoulders of Philippe Coutinho. Ings doesn’t warrant a place at Anfield anymore as he’s only scored 2 goals in his Liverpool career.
