For whatever the reason, Antonio Conte feels that Michi Batshuayi is not up to the desired standard at Chelsea Football Club. It appears that Blues boss would prefer a striker in the mould of a tall target man, something the Belgian is not.

So, he’s now going out of his way to find a target man that would be his plan B option for when Alvaro Morata cannot deliver the goods. As the transfer window comes to an end tomorrow evening, time is running out for the Blues, and they’ve now cited Olivier Giroud as their no.1 target. Is he the best choice for Chelsea? I don’t think so.

Here are three strikers Chelsea could sign instead of Olivier Giroud.

2Andy Carroll

Andy Carroll

There’s no better example of a target man in world football than West Ham’s very own Andy Carroll. The former Newcastle forward hasn’t had the best of times in East London as he’s been plagued with injuries. But the 29-year-old is finally firing on all cylinders and ready for that move to a top 4 team.

Yes, Andy Carroll is your typical big target man, but on many an occasion, he’s proved that his technical ability to match his stature. A stupendous overhead kick against Arsenal comes to mind when thinking about his best exploits. Over the course of his career, the 29-year-old has scored over 80 goals; if that’s not enough to prove he’s good enough for Chelsea, I don’t know what is.
