Latest transfer reports suggest that Premier League giants Manchester United are preparing to lodge a final £58m bid for Bayern Munich striker, Thomas Muller.

The Germany international has been valued at €100 million if the Red Devils are to pounce. However, club’s sporting director Matthias Sammer has not only ruled out the possibility of any further business with the Old Trafford outfit but also advised them to stay away from the 26-year-old attacking midfielder.

The Red Devils signed Angel Di Maria for a British record fee of £59.7million last summer but didn’t have to pay the full amount as the Argentine moved to Paris Saint-Germain only after a year.

United boss Louis van Gaal has been a huge fan of the World Cup winner since his time at the Allianz Arena and is keen to land him at any cost to fancy his side’s title chances.

The Dutchman has already shelled out £75m on five signings this summer, but merely two goals in three Premier League games are enough to give him sleepless nights early in the season.

With skipper Wayne Rooney continuously failing to deliver, United boss have no other option but to van Gaal to delve back into the transfer market in a bid to solve his side’s goalscoring woes.

The four times Bundesliga winner appears to be the most appropriate target after Pedro snub, but it will be quite difficult for the Devils to lure Müller away from Bayern Munich.
