Jadon Sancho Premier League

After a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Leicester City on the final day of the campaign, Manchester United have to turn their focus on the transfer window. Manchester United have qualified for Champions League 2020-21 which would eventually help the club to lure star players. Amongst the transfer targets, Jadon Sancho is the top-priority for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Jadon Sancho moved from the Blue-half of Manchester to Borussia Dortmund for a reported fee of €7.84 million in the 2017 summer transfer window. Since then, the player is on the prowl to prove himself and has scored loads of goals and assists. The 20-year-old English international had 20 goals to his name apart from assisting 20 times in the season. The sensational winger is worth €117 million and BVB are demanding the same from the potential buyers.

For Manchester United, Mason Greenwood has been a regular starter on the right-wing since the restart. He has 6 goals and 1 assist for the club in the Premier League since its restart. The talented teenager has 11 G/A in 31 appearances for the club and saved the blushes several times. However, the hot pursuit of Jadon Sancho should not be stopped because of exciting stats.

In the Bundesliga, Jadon Sancho has 34 G/A in 32 appearances for the “Yellow Army”. Borussia Dortmund looked on a course to break Bayern’s dominance in Germany but lost out the title to the Bavarian giants once again. Despite losing out the title to Bayern, Jadon Sancho has been able to catch the attention of the major clubs with his performances and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is certainly interested to bring in the player who can offer much to the side.

Apart from bringing a bit of Champions League experience with him to Manchester United, he can add the feisty pace on the wings. Jadon Sancho has 2.4 dribbles per game compared to Mason Greenwood’s 0.9 dribbles per game and Daniel James’ 0.8. Also, Manchester United have lacked a creative player on the wings since the departure of Nani who can provide a pin-point cross into the box. Jadon Sancho is a proven player on the wings and can lift Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial’s goal scoring form too.

It is reported that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a transfer kitty of around £100-150 million to sign the players. The transfer kitty is assumed to be before the potential departures of Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo and Alexis Sanchez. With the manager favouring young blood and British players, it is no wonder that the club would splash the cash to sign the Dortmund winger.

If the team has to be competitive enough to win the titles in England, the bench should have the abundant quality to back the manager. The addition of Jadon Sancho can be a major upgrade for the club which has a creative playmaker like Bruno Fernandes and deep-lying playmaker Paul Pogba. Will there be a new Ronaldo-Rooney-Tevezesque partnership in the form of Rashford-Martial-Sancho at Old Trafford?
