Following their lacklustre Ashes campaign, England are visiting New Zealand for a short test match series. We take a look at five English players who can trouble the hosts on their home soil. New Zealand will need to find a way to tackle these players. The Black Caps will not make it easy for England as this is their last test series in what has been a summer that they haven’t played a lot of tests.
4Joe Root
Root will look to build on what is an already impressive test record. After 65 tests, he averages slightly over 53, with 37 half and 13 centuries to match. He’s not short of runs in the longer form of the game either. Finishing England’s second highest run scorer in the Ashes series with 378 in five test matches, finishing only five runs behind top run scorer Dawid Malan.
