With news circulating that Newcastle United are not interested in signing loanee Islam Slimani on a permanent basis and manager Rafael Benitez stating that they need to break their 13-year-old transfer record if they are to sign a striker to hit double figures speculation is rife about who they are signing. Ayoze Perez ended the Premier League season as the club’s top goal scorer with just eight league goals , hence; it’s evident that Newcastle need more firepower upfront.  However, who will be the new main man to score the goals next season?

5Iago Aspas, Celta Vigo

Iago Aspas Celta Vigo

A return to the Premier League could be on the cards after the Spaniard has rediscovered his form after a disastrous move to Liverpool. While at Celta Vigo he helped his side to a Europa League semi-final place last season and forced his way back into the national team reckoning just in time for the World Cup.

With 20 La Liga goals this season, the 30-year-old will not be cheap despite his age but having found the net 19 times last season and 14 the year before that Aspas certainly knows where the back of the net is, hence; he’d be a great addition to Newcastle.
