Petr Cech may be one of the greatest goalkeepers of the modern generation. However at the same time, he is well-past his peak as has been shown through his performances for Arsenal this season.

The 35-year-old has committed numerous errors which have cost the team valuable points and also which has been a cause of frustration to fans.

While Arsene Wenger has used Cech for Premier League games this season, he has reserved David Ospina as his first-choice keeper in Cup tournaments.

This is not an ideal position to be in as their should ideally be a first-choice keeper who represents the keeper in both Cup and League matches.

Cech is past his peak and it is perhaps about time that Arsenal start searching for a new shot-stopper.

It looks doubtful that Ospina will take over as number one. Despite Cech making a series of errors, he has never been promoted to being League starter and this is surely a sign that the club does not have faith in his abilities. Arsenal will likely have to look for a new keeper.

Below are options that they can consider.

3Timo Horn

Timo Horn

The 24-year-old Horn who is currently on the books of FC Köln has shown tremendous potential and it is perhaps just a matter of time before he heads to a bigger club.

With Köln looking increasingly likely to get relegated at the end of the current Bundesliga campaign, Horn could have a £5.4m release clause in his contract which is a bargain fee for a quality player in today’s market.
