After a disappointing 1-1 draw with West Brom, Leicester City extended their winless streak to six games. The draw leaves the Foxes rooted in the relegation zone with only 6 points from 8 games. It’s not good enough and the financial demands of the Premier League have forced Leicester’s owners to take swift action. Craig Shakespeare was the man that steered the ship when Claudio Ranieri was sacked last season, however, now his honeymoon period is over and reality has finally sunk in.

Here are 3 replacements for Craig Shakespeare at Leicester City.

3Frank De Boer

Frank de Boer

After being let go by Crystal Palace in unceremonious fashion, the Dutchman is out with a point to prove. The former Ajax manager wasn’t even given a chance at Selhurst Park as he quickly fell out with the board and his players. It’s rumoured that the Dutchman’s insistence on playing with a back three rubbed Steve Parish up the wrong way as the Chairman wanted the manager to revert to 4-2-3-1. But De Boer refused, lost his opening 4 games and got the sack. But away at Burnley, there were signs of life in De Boer’s Palace team and if given more time, he would’ve succeeded.

Leicester City provides Frank De Boer with an exciting proposition. They’re a club filled with quality players, Champions League experience and a ruckus fanbase. Craig Shakespeare’s rigid 4-4-2 worked well at the back end of last season but this season teams have figured out how to neutralise it. Frank De Boer wouldn’t be so tactically predictable.
