EPL 2017/18: Chelsea 1-0 Manchester United: Combined XI

As Manchester United boss, José Mourinho has made two trips to Stamford Bridge and lost both. Today, he looked to reverse that trend against a Chelsea team in poor form. The Blues were defeated 3-0 in Rome during the week and saw this game as a shot at redemption.

The two heavyweights of English football engaged in a tactical duel with major implications for the Premier League title. Chelsea scored the only goal of the game in the 55^th minute as Álvaro Morata’s jaw-dropping header looped past a stranded David De Gea. The Blues now move into 4^th place, only 1 point behind Manchester United.

Despite playing away from home, Valencia was still as attacking as ever at the Bridge. He went stride for stride with Marcos Alonso, often getting the better of him. In defence, he was assured & focused, forcing Eden Hazard to drift inwards.
